YARD is an independent publication about how creative projects come together.

Each feature starts with a project and works backwards. We speak to the people involved, look at the decisions they made, the references they pulled from, what changed along the way and how different disciplines contributed to the final work.

That might mean talking to a musician about a record, then the photographer who shot its cover, the designer behind its identity, the producer who worked on the music or the filmmaker behind its visuals.

Alongside our features, YARD is a place to find new music, photography, art, film and other work we think is worth paying attention to.

YARD is interested in who made it, why they made it and how they got there.
